Vocational Training

Heart of Compassion Missionary Ministries conducts vocational training to help people help themselves. Through prayer and fasting, we decide what projects we undertake, where we do them and what our end goal will be. Currently, we have committed to three countries in the world: Ethiopia in East Africa, Zimbabwe in Southern Africa, and Haiti in North America.

There are five things we do to make this program work:

Educate: We educate the people of the United States to understand the problems that people face in developing countries by making them aware of the continuous struggle to produce and distribute food, to get an education, and to have a marketable skill. People in developing countries are fighting against chronic hunger and poverty on a daily basis. We help tell their story.

Train: We train people in developing countries in basic business practices and help them get started by providing micro-financing for their business ideas. Business ideas such as: Taxi services, Cotton spool threading, Embroidery, Beading, Husbandry or farm products, and more. Particularly noteworthy are ideas concerning husbandry or farm products because many of these products can be eaten or sold. In protein-deficient countries of the world, eggs can provide protein that will help prevent sickness, improve health, and also serve as a business opportunity for many people by selling eggs and chickens.

Improve: We improve the lives of children by helping families help themselves. When a single mother, widow, or unskilled father has a business skill that provides an income, it raises self-esteem, becomes a source of encouragement, and improves the livelihood of the entire family.

Empower: We empower single mothers, widows, girls, and young men and women to bring about positive change in their lives. We provide micro-financing loans and grants, through your donations, to help start small scale businesses. This availability of credit provides opportunity for women and men to start a business because many people do not have access to traditional financing. We believe that people are able to bring about change in their life and their county if they are personally empowered through education and economic self-sufficiency.

Cooperate: We cooperate with other churches, ministries, organizations and agencies in the countries where we operate so that, together, we can introduce appropriate business practices, education, and techniques to counter poverty and malnutrition. Teamwork makes the dream work.

If you become a “Monthly Donor” or pay the “Total Project Cost” to fund an entire project, your donation will bless many people.
